Born from a desire to keep fit, stay healthy and escape the housework, the Wingerworth Wobblers are an enthusiastic bunch of village runners. Based in Wingerworth, a busy village situated on the edge of the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District.

The club has mixed ability runners who meet every Saturday at 10.30 am on Allendale Park in Wingerworth (next to the Spar shop). The distances covered vary dependent on who turns up each week. A typical run  will be 4-6 miles with an escape route at 2-3 miles for those runners just finding their legs! In nearly 3 years we have only missed one Saturday – the day of the Wingerworth Wobble last May (2012). We are planning to hold the Wingerworth Wobble again this year and are just waiting to hear final confirmation of the proposed date – 18/05/2013.

We are now UKA registered and for £10 per year and if you want to, you can become a fully paid up member of the Wingerworth Wobblers. This would enable you to enter any UKA organised races (see the events calender) at the reduced rate often offered as well as other benefits – see England Athletics website for more details www.englandathletics.org/ .
